Charles Briggs -  Charles is a Vice President and Claims Consultant in the Claims Advisory Section within the Risk Consulting Services Department at the Detroit Marsh office. Charles joined Marsh in May of 1991. Charles provides technical support for Marsh clients in coverage and lawsuit analysis. In addition, Charles is involved in a variety of Risk Consulting activities such as, claims audits/file reviews, operational analysis, TPA marketing evaluations, as well as educational seminars. Charles is a committee member of Marsh's national project team responsible for developing standard software for conducting casualty audits and benchmarking criteria to be utilized by Marsh's claim consultants Charles graduated from Moravian College in Pennsylvania and received his Law Degree from Howard University School of law. In addition to NAAIA-MI, Charles also sits as an executive board member of the Detroit Hispanic Development Corp, a non profit organization that provides community service in the Southwest Detroit Community.

  LeRoy Bostic -  LeRoy Bostic, CPCU, LIC is the president of Lewis & Thompson Agency, Inc. in Detroit, MI. The agency is one of the oldest African-American owned agencies in the country. LeRoy also sits on the boards of various professional organizations in addition to NAAIA-MI, including the Michigan Association of Insurance Agents, the Greater Detroit Chapter of the CPCU, the Michigan Automobile Insurance Placement Facility, and the Michigan Basic Property Insurance Association. He is also on the insurance education staff of Lawrence Technological University.

 

 

Thomas Goss -  Thomas A. Goss is the Chairman of GOSS LLC and is a principal in The Goss Group, Inc. Jennifer Kerr -  Having built a successful, nursing career for more than 20 years as a Registered Nurse, Certified Case Manager, and Certified Nurse Life Care Planner, Medicare Set- Aside Certified Consultant, Jennifer B. Kerr began researching, designing, and implementing a plan in 1994 that would shape a health care management company of her own, Diversified Health Care Management Consultants, Inc. (DHCMC) in Southfield, MI. Having established one of Michigan’s leading medical case management companies, Kerr now celebrates eleven years of survival and growth.  Her initial vision – “to provide the highest attainable level of health care and personal independence for clients in a cost effective and timely manner” -- has given birth to a whole new market of services.  In addition to specializing in the care of persons with catastrophic injuries and chronic illnesses, she has created a unique Elder Care Program that assists families in an area of which she and all women business owners are most affected – financial resources.  Nancy Quarles, PhD -Dr. Nancy Quarles is the President, of Advantage Consulting Group, Inc.(ACGI).  ACGI is a management-consulting firm.  ACGI offers small and medium corporations comprehensive government relations, grant development, research, and public policy development.  Dr. Quarles has served as an elected official.  She was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in 1996 and she was term limited in 2002.  She served as the Chief Whip for the Democratic Caucus, Democratic Vice Chair of the House Tax Policy and Regulatory Affairs and Local Government Committees, and was a member of the Finance and Insurance Committee. Prior to being elected to the House Representatives, Nancy Quarles served as an Oakland County Commissioner and was a member of the General Government and the Planning and Building Committees.  She hosted a cable access public affairs television show titled "The Oakland County Commissioner Report", and "Stateside" which aired on cable. Nancy Quarles has received numerous awards and commendations including the Omega Psi Phi Public Citizen of the Year Award, Distinguish legislator of the Year from the Independent Colleges and Universities Association, Susan B. Anthony Award from the National Organization of Women, Oakland County Community Service Award, and Chapter Women of the Year from American Business Women's Association. She has served as the President of the Southern Oakland County NAACP. She is an alumnus of Leadership Oakland, Leadership Michigan and Leadership America. 

James Ralph -  James K. Ralph Jr. is President of James Ralph Agency, Inc., a full service Insurance Agency.  The agency specializes in commercial insurance and employee benefits, founded July 1, 1983.  It is located at 17515 W. Nine Mile Rd., Suite 430, Southfield. Michigan 48075. He organized and administers a group insurance program for minority businesses in the State of Michigan.  Also, he administers Section 125 (Cafeteria Plans), COBRA, and writes employee benefit booklets for small business. James served in the United States Air Force from May 26, 1966 until May 27, 1970 as a Site Development Specialist for Civil Engineering.  He received an Honorable discharge with the rank of Sergeant (E-4). He graduated from Mumford High School in 1964, and has attended Wayne County Community College, Oakalossa Walton Junior College, and Lawrence Technological University.  He has qualified for the designation of LUTCF, and AAI an insurance certification, and has completed several insurance training programs in the employee benefits and Property/Casualty fields. Craig Whatley - Mr. Craig L. Whatley is President of T.L. Whatley & Associates. He has held Property and Insurance License since 1-25-1982, and a Life and Health Insurance License since 5-13-1985. Mr. Whatley attended Xavier University from 1980 to 1981. He also attended the Mutual of Omaha Career Development Institute in 1992, and the Hartford Insurance Co. Commercial Business Institute in 1993.
